Sonartron limited, are proud to announce the successful installation and commissioning of the new Kaijo Denki 2180 164kHz High Frequency sonar onboard F/V Voyager in Gloucester Massachusetts.

This is a unique break-through both for Kaijo Denki and Sonartron limited, as it is the worlds first Kaijo Denki to be installed and commissioned in the USA.

Cape Seafood’s who manage F/V Voyager among other vessels in Gloucester, contacted Sonartron, concerning their interest in Kaijo Denki Sonar’s, having heard of Kaijo’s reputation for unbeatable underwater fish detection and Sonartron’s professional installation, commissioning and after sales service. The 164kHz Sonar is ideal for herring or mackerel fishing, upon commissioning of this sonar, Sonartron’s Managing Director James Sweeney observed uniquely small fish marks well in excess of 600 metres which is more than expectable on a High Frequency sonar such as this.

The Sonar itself works in Windows 2000, using the most up-to-date computer processors, with advanced graphics card power, allowing the user to experience ultimate resolution of at least 1280x1024, which gives you smooth, crisp graphics and a pixel perfect display, the processor unit has a APC battery back up UPS integrated into its shell, which means no matter what happens you will not loose your sonar picture, in cases of power failures.

Simultaneous displays can be loaded on the sonar at one time including
Cutout image, enlarged image area and of course image storage area. The user may also off-centre the sonar picture allowing 1.5 times enlargement of the selected sonar area including 10 selectable ranges, it is worth mentioning that with the enlarged and zoomed area, absolutely no picture quality or graphic degrading occurs, the picture remains crisp and fresh at all times.

The system can be set for Head-up mode, North-up mode and True motion mode allowing the picture to match the captain’s requirements. A selectable tilt between 0 ~ -90 degrees is available with all these options no sonar is standard infact every sonar can be customized to the specific requirements of the captains on all Kaijo Denki Sonar’s, installed by Sonartron Limited.
