The TCS770 Trawl Sonar has revolutionized the net sonar market

The TCS770 is the Big Brother of the TCS380, and has proven itself, in the fishing industry as a leader in trawl sonar technology. With 10 selectable screens including

Net Profile of 360 degrees Full Screen.

A Full 360 geocentric view of the trawl opening. Watch as your gear reacts to turns, tides and cable adjustments, this of course will immediately show you collapsed doors, crossed weight chains and other problems that can occur with your gear.

Net Profile and Sounder.

Split screen technology combines the down sounder with the net profile, so you know exactly what is happening. The down sounder display monitors fish going into the net and also shows you where the footrope is in relation to the bottom.

The TCS770 is in effect, 3 sonar's in one unit:
  • 110Khz Forward looker, 180 or 310KhZ and 110 KHz high definition echo sounder.
  • It has 10 selectable screens with many of these split screen displays.
  • It weighs 29.5kg, however with the benefit of a forward looker incorporated, it is in effect light compared to some other models of trawl sonar's.

TCS380 Trawl Sonar

Introducing the new TCS380 Trawl Sonar from Wesmar, experts in fish detection technology, available from deep-sea experts Sonartron Limited.

Using many of the same principles as its big brother, the TCS770 comes complete with the innovative, uncluttered, compact pistol grip remote control, for ease of use. The TCS380 provides perfect trawl monitoring for small and medium trawlers, with 360-degree net profile and high power high definition net sounder, and catch receiver!

Weighing only 4.5kg on the net and 12kg in the air, and a working depth of 1000m its jammed full of features and the most cost-effective trawl sonar on the market. For the first time small to medium vessels can have complete reliable, accurate information about the shape of the trawl net, the catch entering the net and the footrope. The new pistol grip remote control makes this trawl sonar the most easy to use system, with no switches, no fiddly knobs, and a simple menu and user interface system.

The three modes of Operation
  • Net Profile: with a frequency of 310khz a narrow fan beam scans 360 degrees, or you can define your own scanning sector. See everything you need about your net, headrope, wings, footrope, as well as the bottom contour. Monitor the fish they enter, go over or under the net.
  • Down Sounder: a full screen resolution 200kHz down sounder as standard. A 28-degree beam captures the vertical opening of the net, fish, footrope and bottom in the center of the trawl.
  • Split screen: Down sounder over Net Profile. Two transducers operating at the same time for a double view. The down sounder monitors the footrope and the bottom and marks fish in the center, at the same time the profile transducer scans the net opening in high resolution.
Also a remarkable and intuitive new idea is the built in speaker that will alert the skipper of a triggering of a Wesmar egg and its number. You will never miss a catch sensor when it triggers!

For Bottom and mid water the TCS 380 includes a pressure sensor that monitors the depth of the headrope making it easy to align the net with the fish and they pass.
Also a TCS380C version includes sensors to measure the current flow and direction helping the vessel tow in the direction and flow of the current/water for increasing efficency and keeping costs down.
